Minor eye infections can be of viral, fungal and bacterial origin or by allergies.
Conjunctivitis, also called “pink eye,” is a common, highly contagious eye infection that often is spread among children in day care centers, classrooms and similar environments.
It usually affects both eyes and makes them:
- bloodshot
- burn or feel gritty
- produce pus that sticks to lashes
- itch
- water
